About Us

Background

Established in 1980 and incorporated in 1982, the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County is a non-profit and charitable organization. It currently has 9 Volunteer Board of Directors, over 200 volunteers, as well as 25 staff members (full & part time).

We are a dynamic local Alzheimer Society dedicated to serving the diverse needs of people affected by dementia in Ottawa and Renfrew County. Our dedicated staff and passionate volunteers are driven by a clear mission, vision and values.

We are very grateful for the base funding we receive from the Champlain Local Health Integration Network. We certainly could not do what we do without it. However, we still must raise about 60% of our budget from donations and fundraising endeavours.

Client Satisfaction

Over 300 clients (response rate of 25.8%) of the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County responded to an annual satisfaction survey about local Society programs and services offered during 2013 – 2014. Generally, satisfaction was rated very high. For more results, please click here.
